Thursday, December 20, 2007 We lost our bass player!
Our bass player announced today that he's leaving the band. No reasons given, he just didn't felt spending more money and time on the band. And yes, we need a new one
Wednesday, August 29, 2007 New gigs confirmed + studio booked!
Whoa!
Oh yes, my fellow shredgrindgroovescrewiacs, Sarpedon will support the mighty Crest Of Darkness (Black/Heavy/Prog Metal brainchild of former Conception bassist Ingar Amlien) on two occasions: Friday October 5th at Bar Ampfield, Gjøvik, Norway, and Friday October 12th at Club Maiden, Oslo, Norway.
In other news, we will enter TopRoom studios (Mayhem, Borknagar, Vintersorg, Carnivora, Big Bang) in late October to begin recording our next demo. Prepare for a considerably heavier and more technical sound.

Wednesday, August 1, 2007 Member change + new gig confirmed!Whoa!
Yes, my good friends, it's happened once again - Espen was fired from the band after a period of, well, not being able to be constructive around eachother, basically. He's a nice guy and all that but in this band he just didn't work out - and I guess we'd have to make the move sometime or another. He will, however, be joining us for our upcoming gig at the kick off party for the Motstøy Festival., where we're selected as one of the bands allowed to compete for a slot on this year's edition of the festival - that means playing alongside Mayhem, Evergrey, Pain Of Salvation, Keep Of Kalessin etc. Are we excited?
Nah... ...or YES!!! I mean :-)
Judging from the above we're also on the hunt for a new guitar player, if you know someone (or if you ARE the one) you know who to call/e-mail/talk to/sleep with (me, that is).

Sunday, May 6, 2007 Website update - new singer - and a bit about what's going on Whoa!
Following two very successful gigs we're now back in the studio working on new material, as well as recording a few new tracks...it's just about time isn't it? For those who haven't noticed we've also got our new singer in place, his name is Stan Sylvander, and I assure you this lil fella can sing...SING! We're also working on booking more gigs, and several bands have announced their interest - both in and outside of Oslo. Stay tuned...and RAWK ON! Torgeir

Wednesday, January 3, 2007 Eirik is no longer in the band It is with a heavy heart announce that Eirik is no longer a part of Sarpedon. The full statement can be read at the blog section of our MySpace site, and we're obviously looking for a new singer. Anyone interested just slip a note to torgeir@sarpedonmetal.com. And just in case you wondered, this was a hell of a decision to make. Hopefully it's the best for both parties.

Monday, October 23, 2006 Sarpedon featured in Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles! Sarpedon is one of the very few, selected indie bands to be featured on the CD sampler accompanying the 100th issue of Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, quite possibly the world's best quality Metal magazine. Be sure to check it out at newsstands all over the US, Canada, and most of Europe. And what's better while listening to the sampler than checking out our newly updated Pics, where pics from the first Skuret gig are now available!

Sunday, October 1, 2006 Shows in Kristiansand and Oslo cancelled! Gaia Epicus' bass player has left the band, and the rest of their tour has therefore been cancelled. The two shows we were gonna support them at, in Kristiansand October 13th and Oslo October 14th, are both affected by this, and will not take place. A shame indeed.

Tuesday, August 1, 2006 New gig confirmed! Sarpedon's first gig in Oslo is hereby confirmed. Plenty of new material will be presented at Skuret Friday September 22, when we'll climb the barricades with Imbalance and one more band (TBA). For more info check out the Gigs page.
Tuesday, July 11, 2006 Welcome to our new site, SarpedonMetal.com! For those who've been frequenting the MySpace site (www.myspace.com/sarpedonmetal), that site will still be updated as before, but SarpedonMetal.com will be the spot for everything about the band. Friday, March 31, 2006 Sarpedon seeking guitarist Whoa! Straight to the point this time — Sarpedon is seeking a new guitarist for live work and further recording in the near future. You: Have a 5-year-old's sense of humour, a hyperactive 25-year-old's chops and creativity, an in-love, 50-year-old's passion, and the looks of Carl (our drummer). We: Have all of the above. Or we think we have. At least the sense of humour. The new material is both more technical and considerably heavier than the posted tracks. We're located in Oslo, Norway, but it doesn't matter whether you live in Bergen or Copenhagen if you take the time to show up here for rehearsals.
